Overview

This virtual lecture examines alternative approaches to addressing sex trafficking that prioritize survivor rights over punitive rescue-based models. Presented by Dr. Lindsay Gezinski, the session critiques how criminal justice–driven anti-trafficking efforts can unintentionally criminalize survivors and reinforces the need for more nuanced, rights-based responses. The talk explores the complexities of sex trafficking, challenges common myths and stereotypes, and highlights interpersonal and structural forms of violence, offering frameworks that promote survivor autonomy, dignity, and justice.
