Ways to Give
Make a Gift or Make a Pledge
Most donations are one-time gifts, or pledges to be paid in several smaller gifts. Contributions can be delivered in person, mailed to the College, or submitted online through our online giving page. Larger gifts may entitle you to additional donor privileges.
Memorial and Honor Gifts
Making a gift in memory of a loved one or to honor a colleague is a meaningful way to acknowledge the contributions others have made to you and to your community. If you make a gift in memory or in honor of someone, the individual or their family will be notified of this special recognition.
Planned Gifts
Bequests offer a powerful way to provide significant support to a cause. Many people are pleasantly surprised to discover they have a larger estate than they realized, allowing them to explore grander giving ideas through a will than they can through annual gifts. We invite you to consider making a planned gift by writing the College of Social Work into your will or creating a Charitable Remainder Trust. Please contact the College’s director of advancement, Geoff Doiron (801-587-8387 or geoff.doiron@utah.edu), if you have questions or explore the University’s Build Your Gift tool to determine the planned gift that best suits you. (Keep in mind that many planned gift options come with special tax benefits.)
Matching Gifts from Employers
Many companies will match the gifts their employees make to nonprofits like the University of Utah. That means your gift of $50 can become a gift of $100! Not sure if your employer has a matching gifts program? Talk to your human resources department or search our database.
Securities and Property
If you would like to help further our mission with a gift of appreciated securities or property, you might benefit from significant tax breaks while the College of Social Work benefits from your generous contribution. In-Kind Gifts
Some people prefer to make gifts of tangible items. Whether it’s new computers for our computer lab or artwork for the observation rooms of our clinical training suites, we are happy to discuss this type of gift with you.

We seek gifts from corporations and foundations throughout the year and are grateful for their far-reaching support.
